Riftbound has officially announced its first-ever competitive bans, effective March 31, 2026. This move targets dominant archetypes to ensure the long-term health of the Standard Constructed meta.

The Banned List

The following cards and battlefields are now illegal in competitive play:

Why the Change?

The design team identified two major issues: the 'Miracle' archetypes and the over-performance of Draven midrange decks. Called Shot and Scrapheap were banned to prevent Chaos decks from cycling through their entire decks too efficiently. To pull back Draven's early-game pressure without banning the Legend itself, Draven, Vanquisher was removed from the format.

Battlefield Adjustments

Battlefields like Reaver's Row and The Dreaming Tree were deemed too ubiquitous, creating non-interactive play patterns or providing excessive consistency across all domains. Obelisk of Power was removed to restore diversity in deckbuilding costs.
